About the project
This project will bring reliable, high-quality internet connectivity to underserved schools and surrounding communities in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal. Project Isizwe will connect five schools with classroom-level WiFi and extend access into the community through public hotspots using our sustainable R5/day model. The project integrates connectivity, digital learning access, and community participation to enable education, economic opportunity, and long-term digital inclusion.
Updates
All 5 schools are already live. After the school holiday in South Africa, the children will return to fully connected schools. The community center is live as well and performing great.
The next steps are to continue with the community deployment. Project Isizwe's model of community hotspots and affordable access of R5 a day will be used.
